Why does clicking a link in a notification email take me to the Granite home page?
The most common reasons for being redirected to the home page are that you do not have permission to access the target asset, the form has been moved to a different asset, or you are opening the link in the wrong environment or login path. A broken or expired link may also redirect you to the default page.
Try the following:
1) Verify that you are using the correct environment and login method
- Open your organization's Granite URL and select the correct login method (for example, your organization's external login or Windows credentials).
- Sign in and paste the full notification link URL directly into the browser address bar.
2) Try a different browser or a private/incognito window
- Copy the link from the notification email and paste it manually into the address bar. Make sure the browser is not truncating or modifying the URL.
3) Check permissions and the form's location
- Ask the sender or your Granite admin to verify that the form/notification is still in the same location and that you have at least read access to it. If the item has been moved to an area where you do not have permissions, being redirected to the home page is to be expected.
4) Correct use of anonymous links
- If the link is for an anonymous report or survey, always use the original link. Do not create a desktop shortcut or bookmark from an already opened reporting page, as the URL may change into a one-time access address after use. If necessary, request the original URL or QR code from your organization's Granite contact person.
5) Verify that the link has not expired or become invalid
- Using old or temporary links (for example, a separate link intended for creating a new user account) may result in a redirect to the home page. If necessary, ask your organization's Granite contact person for a new, up-to-date link.
6) f the issue persists
- Provide the necessary information (the URL you used, the Granite environment URL starting with https://, the time the issue occurred, and any screenshots) and contact your organization's Granite admin or Granite Support so they can verify your permissions and the validity of the link.
Tip: If the redirect only occurs on a specific device or browser, clear your browser cache and cookies or try a different browser. This may resolve temporary session or SSO-related issues.
