Articles on: Login

The program asks for a six-digit code during login. What is this?

The six-digit code is related to two-factor authentication (2FA/MFA). It is a changing, one-time code generated by an authenticator app (such as Microsoft Authenticator or Google Authenticator) that improves the security of your account. The code changes approximately every 30 seconds.

What to do
  • If 2FA is already enabled: Open your authenticator app, find the Granite account entry, and enter the 6-digit code shown in the app to confirm your login.
  • If you have never enabled 2FA or your phone/app has been changed or reinstalled: Contact Granite support and request a 2FA reset.

The next time you log in, you will see a QR code. Scan it with your authenticator app. After this, your app will start generating 6-digit codes for login.

If the code is not accepted
  • Make sure you are using the correct account entry in your authenticator app (codes for other services will not work).
  • Check that your phone’s time is correct and set to automatic synchronization.
  • If you enter the wrong code multiple times, your account may be locked. Contact support to unlock it; 2FA can be temporarily disabled or reset if necessary.

Tips
  • If login only asks for a 6-digit code and does not show a QR code, 2FA is already linked to a previous device.
    • The solution is to reset 2FA and set it up again.
