How do I add a new Assessment to the Risk Assessment Tool?

A new assessment unit (asset) is added through the Assets view, while risks themselves are added within the asset's own assessment view.

Step-by-step instructions:

  1. Open Admin view in Granite and navigate to the Assets tab.
  2. Locate the asset under which you want to add a new assessment unit. Right-click the asset and select Add New Asset. Enter a name for the new asset.
  3. Right-click the newly created asset and select the tool from the Add Tool menu in which you want the new asset to appear. The new asset is now created and available in the selected tool.
  4. Open the tool where you just created the new target asset and locate it in the tool's asset tree. If there are many assets, you can use the Find Asset search field. Once you have found the asset, click it to open its assessment view.
  5. You can now add risks to the new asset by clicking the Add Risk button.

Common issues and solutions:

  • You cannot assign a responsible person to a risk form: Check the filters and role settings of the user selection field on the form to ensure that the desired user is available for selection.
  • You cannot find a newly created risk form in a long list of forms: Sort the risk list by the form's Created date, or use the Filter function.

If the instructions do not help: Please contact support at support@granitegrc.com and specify, which tool you are trying to add the asset to, any error message you receive or whether a required button or view is missing.
